House Break on Burnt Swamp Road
On May 12, 2011, Officer Halloway and Officer Hearon responded to a daytime breaking and entering on Burnt Swamp Road. The front door of a residence was kicked in, causing considerable damage to the frame. Several rooms were ransacked and a variety of property was stolen, including jewelry. Detective Lt. McGrath is investigating. Anyone having information helpful to the investigation is asked to contact Wrentham Police at 508-384-2121.
Wrentham Mall Motor Vehicle Broken Into, Purchases Stolen.
On May 15, 2011 at about 5:30 p.m., Officer Barry McGrath responded to Wrentham Outlets for a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, a 2010 Ford Explorer. The owner, Lucas Vargas reported that he left several shopping bags in the rear of his vehicle and returned to the mall to continue shopping. When Mr. Vargas came back to his vehicle, he discovered the break and that the shopping bags were gone. The victim estimated there was approximately $1500.00 worth of goods stolen. The incident is under investigation.
Wrentham Mall DKNY Store Shoplifting
On May 15, 2011 at about 3:20 p.m., Wrentham Police responded to a shoplifting call at the Wrentham Outlet Mall, DKNY store. The caller reported a black male in his late 40's with a brown leather jacket, camouflage hat and camouflage pants stole a sweater valued at $89.00. The male suspect was with a black female and the two were last seen in front of the Sony store. Wrentham police officers searched the area to no avail.
Wrentham Mall Gymboree Shoplifting
On May 13, 2011 at about 4:30 p.m., Officer Coliflores responded to the Wrentham Mall Gymboree store for a reported shoplifting. Store employees described three suspects, two females and a male who are known as frequent visitors to the Wrentham Mall and have been suspected of stealing, though not caught. Officer Coliflores and Officer Halloway tracked down one of the suspects, a pregnant female, identified as Christy Thompson, age 31 of Pawtucket, RI. Ms. Thompson was at the Bebe store where she was carrying an Abercrombie Fitch bag, though there is no such store at the Wrentham Mall. The bag contained stolen clothing from the Gymboree store. Thompson was charged with larceny under $250.00.
Wrentham Mall True Religion Store Attempted Theft
On May 13, 2011, employees of True Religion reported three males in their store attempting to steal. The employees recognized the three suspects because they are known as regulars at the store and the mall. The suspects typically enter the store and separate to distract and divide employees while one or more of the suspects attempt to cut inventory control tags from store merchandise which can then pass by the sensors at the door. When police arrived, the suspects had left the store and were not located.
Shoplifting at Wrentham Mall Coach Store
On May 11 2011 at 5:26 p.m., Officer Schwalbe and Officer Halloway responded to the Wrentham Mall Coach Store for a reported shoplifting. Employees informed police the suspect was observed on camera stealing merchandise. The suspect was located and identified as Samanta Beauharnais, age 20, of Lambert Rd., Randolph, MA. Ms. Beauharnais denied stealing anything and demanded to see video. Police searched her shopping bag and recovered the stolen goods at which time the suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to Wrentham P.D. for booking.
Disturbance Call Leads to Warrant Arrest
On May 13, 2011 at 6:43 p.m., Officer Coliflores responded to 142 Lakeside Avenue for a disturbance involving a father and son. While sorting out the details police determined there was an outstanding warrant for the son, Robert Delaney Jr., age 29, of 16 Myrtle St., Wrentham. The warrant was for a probation violation. Mr. Delaney was arrested and transported to Wrentham Police Headquarters where he remained for the weekend until his appearance at Wrentham District Court on May 16, 2011.
Car Stop at Wrentham Mall Leads to Arrest of Possible Illegal Alien
On May 15, 2011 at 5:55 p.m. Detective Lt. McGrath stopped a vehicle with five occupants after a routine check of the registration plate revealed the owner had no license. The operator, identified as Edy Santos, age 24, of 42 Roosevelt St., New Bedford, MA was determined to be a native of Guatemala and a person of interest to United States Homeland Security who promptly issued a detainer on the suspect. Mr. Santos was arrested and charged for operating without a license. He was transported to police headquarters where he was booked and held until the following morning when he appeared at Wrentham District Court to be arraigned on local charges and processed by federal authorities for immigration issues.
