Boston Marathon Law Enforcement Response

To “Protect and Serve” is the motto commonly associated with the profession of law enforcement.  When a senseless, tragic event occurs, like the attacks of April 15^th, this adage has no boundaries.  As such, the Wrentham Police Department has deployed resources to assist our partners in Boston, as part of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METRO) contingent.  Wrentham is an active member of METRO, a consortium comprised of 42 Police departments and 2 Sheriff’s departments, with hundreds of dedicated officers assigned to respond and assist agencies who have incidents in their cities or towns that will require resources beyond their normal capacity.   Obviously, the investigation into the Boston Marathon bombings falls into this category.  It is a 24/7 operation, requiring replenishments of personnel, among various other things, for a prolonged amount of time.  Our officers are on scene to perform whatever functions are requested by our host agency.  The scope of these specific assignments changes on a daily basis. What does not change however, is the unified primary goal of the local, state and federal law enforcement personnel on scene- to bring a renewed sense of security to the resilient residents and business owners of the City of Boston, the strong people of the State of Massachusetts and the proud citizens of United Stated of America. 

Felony Warrant for ** Stephen F. Deagle **

 

Wrentham Police secured a felony arrest warrant for Stephen F. Deagle, D.O.B. 07/23/89, whose last known address was 91 Main Street, Quincy, MA.

The suspect is accused of stealing two gold bracelets from the Zales Jewelry Store at the Wrentham Mall on March 25, 2013 at 4:45 p.m. The two bracelets are valued at over $10,000.00.

Deagle walked in to the store and asked a salesperson to show him the two gold bracelets. When the clerk handed him the bracelets, Deagle fled the store and ran to his vehicle, a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon, color black, Mass. Registration BR90EB. The vehicle then sped out of the parking lot.

The entire incident was captured on surveillance video in the store and his getaway was captured on surveillance video in the parking lot, including the registration number on his vehicle. Police suspect he had an accomplice in the car.

Along with this incident, Deagle is a suspect in a similar theft at another jewelry store and has an outstanding warrant for a parole violation. He had been committed to a New Hampshire Jail for approximately 16 months before his release on parole which occurred March 21, 2012.

OUI Arrest Leads To Loaded Handgun Discovery

At 7:40am on Sunday morning (3-24-2013), Officer Dan Morris came upon an apparently disabled car on Manchester Drive.  Subsequent contact with the man in the car led to an arrest of Arthur Henebury for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  A search of the vehicle following the arrest led to the discovery of a loaded handgun.  Mr. Henebury does not have the proper license to possess the firearm and was also charged with its possession.  Officer Morris was assisted by Officer Scott Ellis at the scene.

Arthur Henebury was released on bail and will be arraigned at the Wrentham District Court.

Mr. Kenswil was arrested on 03-02-2013 at, or around 8:30pm, for domestic assault and battery by Officers McGrath, Cassidy and Coliflores.

Ms. Lowry was arrested by Officer's Coliflores, Cassidy and Sgt. Smith on 03-09-2013 at 11:00pm for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Mr. Mejia-Delisle was arrested at the Wrentham Village Outlets for shoplifting on 03-10-2013 by Lt. Det. McGrath who was assisted by Officers Morris, Schwalbe, Coliflores and Sgt. Smith. 

Lost and Found - Rings

Rings were recovered at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets recently.  There is a very particular inscription on the ring.  If you are the owner, or know the owner and the inscription , please contact the Wrentham Police Department and speak with detectives.

Heroin Deal Interrupted Results in Arrest of Two

Wrentham Police Officers patrolling the west end of town interrupt a heroin drug deal and arrest Timothy Cullen, age 25 of Norfolk, Massachusetts and Carlos Pena, age 29 of Providence, Rhode Island.

Wrentham Police Sergeant James Barrett and Detective Barry McGrath were patrolling the west end of town on February 4, 2013 in response to residents concerns of potential drug deals being conducted roadside in and around their neighborhoods.

According to the officer’s reports, they came across a vehicle parked on an isolated area of Summer Street, Wrentham and recognized the operator as Timothy Cullen, a Norfolk resident.

Officers observed an uncapped hypodermic needle in plain view in Cullen’s vehicle and based upon statements made, determined Cullen was waiting to purchase Heroin from a drug dealer.

Within moments, Sergeant Barrett observed a male, subsequently identified as Carlos Pena of Providence, RI operating a Volvo station wagon on Summer Street driving toward him.  Based upon information at the scene, Sergeant Barrett believed Pena to be arriving to sell heroin to Cullen.

  

Carlos Pena was arrested on scene and transported to Norwood Hospital for evaluation.  Timothy Cullen was also arrested and transported to Wrentham Police Headquarters for booking.
