Wrentham Outlet Mall Robbery Suspects Arrested

On July 24, 2011, Wrentham Police responded to a robbery at the Wrentham Mall. Employees of the Reebok Store and Rockport Store were on the way to a local bank with deposits when the employee carrying both bank deposits was assaulted by a male suspect who knocked him to the ground and struck him several times until he released the deposit bag. The assailant then fled with an accomplice to a getaway car that was driven by a third suspect.

Sgt. Mayhew, Officer Hearon, Officer Coliflores and Det. Lt. McGrath arrived at the scene and conducted investigation that led to recovery of key evidence.

On July 25, 2011, Officer Hearon and Det. Lt. McGrath executed a search warrant on a suspect vehicle in Cumberland RI after the vehicle was seized by Officer Shanna Loveless of Cumberland P.D. Additional evidence was recovered as a result of the search. Officer Hearon and Det. Lt. McGrath developed information on possible suspects and proceeded to Providence RI where additional information was gathered for the investigation.  

On July 29, 2011, the investigation continued in Milford MA where one suspect was located, identified and subsequently arrested. Matthew J. Brodeur, age 24, of 21 Lee St., Milford was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Unarmed Robbery; Unarmed Robbery; Larceny Over $250.00; and Assault & Battery.

On July 30, 2011, Det. Lt. McGrath and Providence Police Detectives, with arrest warrants in hand, searched locations in Providence that led to the arrest of two additional suspects.

Both suspects were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Unarmed Robbery; Unarmed Robbery; and Larceny Over $250.00.

All three suspects were arraigned on August 1, 2011 at the Wrentham District Court.
